One teenager is in critical condition and two others are in custody after shots rang out at a SEPTA station in Center City Philadelphia Thursday night, Jan. 11, police told Daily Voice.

The 16-year-old victim was hit once in the head on the westbound platform of the 15th Street Station around 9:30 p.m., according to PPD. He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in critical condition, police said.

Officers heard the shots and arrested two teenage suspects at the scene, police said. A weapon was recovered as well.

6abc reports that the District Attorney's Office is charging both teen suspects as adults. Daily Voice has reached out to prosecutors for comment.

(Note: An earlier version of this story included a claim from SEPTA police that the victim died from his wounds. Philadelphia police said Friday afternoon that he remains hospitalized in critical condition.)
